8月26日，据Deadline报道，HBO派拉蒙TV准备把马丁·斯科塞斯导演、“小李子”莱昂纳多·迪卡普里奥主演的电影《禁闭岛》(2010)拍成美剧了！剧名暂定为《Ashecliffe》竞聘稿范文，算是《禁闭岛》的前传。斯科塞斯将执导试播集，HBO计划邀请小说作者丹尼斯·勒翰担任编剧。另据《好莱坞报道者》消息网络红人美女图片，“小李子”将与老马丁一起，成为该片的制作人。

《禁闭岛》于2010年上映，故事设定在1954年，“小李子”饰演的联邦警官泰迪，和搭档查克（马克·鲁法洛 饰）乘船来到波士顿附近的禁闭岛精神病犯监狱，调查一桩离奇失踪案。手刃亲生骨肉的女犯蕾切尔从戒备森严的牢室神秘逃脱请人的邀请书，藏匿于孤岛深处。泰迪怀疑监狱的主治精神病医师约翰·考利（本 金斯利 饰）有意隐瞒内情，并向查克透露他上岛的真实目的其实是寻找当年纵火烧死他妻子德洛丽丝（米歇尔·威廉姆斯 饰）的管理员，并揭露美国政府利用精神病犯人进行人体科学实验的罪行辞职信范文。 《禁闭岛》电影海报，于2010年上映。

Ashecliffe这个词，在电影中指的是位于岛上的艾什克里夫精神病院，这次被直接用作这部电视剧的片名。美剧版《禁闭岛》，恰恰将围绕这家精神病院的历史和“劣迹”展开，观众可以看到上世纪20年代这家病院成立后，病人在这里遭受的各种“治疗”。
老马丁还在为HBO开发一部讲述上世纪70年代纽约摇滚乐发展史的美剧嫩模不雅照。他将与《海滨帝国》的编剧特伦斯 温特合作，温特正好也是“小李子”那部《华尔街之狼》的编剧。
